This class introduced power, privilege, oppression and techniques for recognizing personal bias, describing the impact of personal bias on your actions, describing the impact of personal bias on teaching and conducting a deeper exploration into your identity. It will also explore the historical context of Dr. Montessori’s work as well as the importance of transformation.
Once we have ritualized honest self refinement, from that place we can more effectively go about the work of interrupting inequitable systems, schools, and curriculum. This ABAR course is designed to give participants very real practice with reflection and resistance and to develop action steps towards liberation within our personal lives, schools, and broader communities.
